ART

Lies Lecompte is a self-taught creative explorer of the human self and the natural world at large.

She is passionate about plants and light and engages in a continuous process of self-exploration and self-expression through various media as a result of various courses and workshops, primarily in dance and theatre.

The process leads her to visual and experiential art, artistic performances, comedy and movement. Her most recent education within gardening has been most impactful for her art practice, resulting in her first living artwork.

“I have a desire to create art with plants rather than about plants, preferring to explore art outside of buildings, in a garden or on water, among non-human actors.”

Långholmen (Stockholm)
4 April 2026, a small layer of snow covered the ground and the crocuses made themselves more visible.

250 crocuses were planted in the garden of art house Slipvillan on Långholmen, Stockholm, in September 2025. They bloomed for the first time in the spring of 2026.

Every year, the crocuses will bloom more and more profusely thanks to the natural propagation of the bulbs.
